Passion for Baseball

At the age of 5, Jacob made a decision he was going to play Baseball Professionally and never looked back. Playing all through his childhood growing up, he made the High School JV Baseball team as a freshman. Always receiving the Tiger Pride award for being the hardest worker, Jacob earned his spot as a Varsity Captain his Senior Year. Jacob then received a scholarship to play collegiately at Central Christian College where he started every game as a freshman and set multiple Base Stealing records. That summer Jacob went to Central and South America to play with Athletes in Action in Mexico, Nicaragua and Venezuela. Following the summer Jacob bounced back and played at Mt San Jacinto Junior College in California.

Professional Playing Career

In 2004 Jacob achieved his life long goal by signing a Professional Contract to play for the Bennigsen Beavers in the German Bundesliga. In 2005 Jacob continued his professional career in Europe by signing with the Skovde Saints in the Swedish Elitserien. After getting his Bachelors in Communication from Sonoma State University in 2006, Jacob continued to play internationally in Australia with the Manly Eagles in the New South Wales Major Leagues. Making his way back to the states in 2007 Jacob signed a contract with the Lewisville Lizards in the Continental Baseball League.

Transition to Coaching

In 2008 Jacob transitioned off the field and began scouting as an associate for the San Diego Padres, along with working for Perfect Game Baseball and Team USA Baseball. In 2010 Jacob returned to the field as an Assistant Coach at La Sierra University in Riverside, Ca. That then led to a position with the Toronto Blue Jays AAA team – Las Vegas 51's as the Bullpen Catcher and BP Pitcher for the 2011 season. In the fall of 2011 Jacob continued his International Career in Cape Town South Africa as a Player/Coach helping the South African National Team prepare for the upcoming World Baseball classic and Playing with the Bothasig Knights in the Western Province Major leagues. Continuing on the International scene, Jacob took the 2012 season to help the Philippine National Baseball Team prepare for the upcoming World Baseball Classic and also play in the Baseball Philippines Professional Baseball League. After returning from the Philippines, Jacob had completed another professional goal of playing baseball on all 6 playable continents in 9 different countries. Jacob is now working as a Consultant and doing Private Instruction for the remainder of the off season.
